Boat Insurance
Why buy boat insurance?
Boat insurance is not a legal requirement in Ireland but there may be circumstances where you will need to provide evidence of insurance, whether for marine finance, or to satisfy a marina, harbour or waterways authority.
If you have invested thousands in a boat it's also wise to protect that investment.
Having Third Party cover is essential is critical in today's litigious world. With the current level of compensation awards we strongly recommend insuring yourself against such claims. This level of Third Party cover is standard in all Craftinsure policies.
The boat insurance policies offered by Craftinsure provide comprehensive cover to safeguard your investment, along with Third Party insurance of €5,000,000, exceeding the requirements of Waterways Ireland and others.
When should I buy boat insurance?
You should start your boat insurance the moment you have a financial interest in the vessel. When purchasing on-line with Craftinsure you can select a policy start date up to 30 days ahead to save leaving things to the last minute.
What should I be looking for?

Look at the questions you are being asked on the application - if there seems to be a lot of unnecessary form filling and irrelevant questions it might not bode well if you have a claim.
