This provides a summary of the main features and limitations of the Craftinsure Ireland Ltd range of policies which are specifically designed to cover pleasure craft and protect pleasure craft owners against legal liability they may incur. These policies are administered by Craftinsure Ireland Ltd and are underwritten by Zurich Insurance plc. Duration
The policy normally runs for 12 months and is renewable annually. Please note that policies will automatically renew on the due date unless you cancel beforehand.
Governing Law
In the Republic of Ireland, the law allows both you and us to choose the
law applicable to this contract. This contract will be subject to the law
of the Republic of Ireland. The parties agree to submit to the exclusive
jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
Applicable to all policies:

Dayboat and Keel Boat, and Racing Yacht policies listed below).
The policies cover (see heading 'We will pay for.')
• Loss or damage to the vessel and associated equipment as agreed up to the
total value insured due to external accidental means, fire, explosion,
negligence, malicious acts and other causes specified in the policy.
• Theft of the vessel, or of equipment provided the theft follows forcible
entry or removal by force.
• Loss or damage whilst in transit by road within the UK for vessels up to
30'.
• Claims against you by Third Parties up to a maximum of €5m any one event.
The policies do not cover (see heading 'We will not pay for')
• Wear and tear, deterioration and depreciation
• Third Party claims whilst in transit by road
• Theft of outboard motors from the vessel unless attached with an anti
theft device in addition to normal method of attachment
• Sails, covers or canopies lost or damaged by the wind.
• Loss or damage to the vessel or equipment caused by your recklessness or
wilful misconduct
• The cost of making good any defective workmanship.
• Use of the vessel for anything other than private pleasure
• The amount of any Excess stated in the policy (doubled in respect of
damage to under water gear for Tidal Motor Boats, Speedboats and RIBs).
Important policy conditions:
• The vessel and trailer must be maintained in a proper state of repair and
seaworthiness/roadworthiness.
• Deductions for wear and tear apply in respect of sails and covers over 3
years old (see policy for specific details).
• You must exercise due care in safeguarding the vessel and equipment.
• You must be able to supply the serial number of your outboard engine.
Additional terms applicable to Smallcraft, Racing Dinghy, Speedboat and RIB, Dayboat and Keel Boat, and Racing Yacht policies:
Smallcraft Policy
Cover also includes:
• Loss or damage whilst in transit by road or ferry vessel.
• Up to 30 days use on the Continent of Europe.
Cover excludes
• Personal effects other than lifejackets and buoyancy aids.
• Loss or damage whilst left unattended on moorings unless otherwise
agreed.
Other important conditions
• The maximum speed does not exceed 25 mph (23 knots).
• The craft is not used for racing.
• The craft must be securely tied to the ground when left in a dinghy park.
Racing Dinghy Policy
Cover also includes:
• Full racing risks.
• Loss or damage whilst in transit by road or ferry vessel.
• Up to 30 days use on the Continent of Europe.
Cover excludes
• Personal effects other than lifejackets and buoyancy aids.
• Loss or damage whilst left unattended on moorings unless otherwise
agreed.
Other important conditions
• The dinghy must be securely tied to the ground when left in a dinghy
park.
Speedboat and RIB policies
Cover also includes
• Loss or damage whilst in transit by road or ferry vessel.
• Liability to and of waterskiers and wakeboarders.
• Up to 30 days use on the Continent of Europe.
Cover excludes
• Loss or damage whilst left unattended on moorings unless otherwise
agreed.
• Theft of trailers or vessels left unattended on a trailer unless the
trailer fitted with and securely locked by a wheel clamp and hitch lock.
• Liability resulting from towing of toys such as inflatable "donuts" or
"ringos".
• Racing or speed trials.
• Personal effects other than lifejackets and buoyancy aids.
• Damage to propellers in use.
• Loss or damage by fire or explosion if fitted with inboard engine(s)
unless fitted with automatic fire extinguishers.
Other important conditions
• The maximum speed does not exceed 50 mph (45 knots).
• An experienced person aged 20 or over is on board and in charge when in
use.
Dayboat and Keelboat Policy
Cover also includes
• Loss or damage whilst in transit by road.
Racing Yacht Policy
Cover also includes
• Loss or damage to sails, masts and spars whilst racing, limited to 2/3rds
of the cost of repairs or replacement.

Our Complaints Procedure
We aim to provide a high standard of service that will leave you no cause for complaint. However, if you feel we have not net the high standard you would expect of us, any enquiries or complaints regarding your policy may be addressed to complaints@craftinsure.ie or by post to the Managing Director, Craftinsure Ireland Ltd, I Connawood Green, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray, Co Wicklow. If necessary, we will arrange for your complaint to be handled by Zurich Insurance plc or their representative, however, if this is the case, the below process will still apply.

Many complaints can be resolved within 5 days of receipt
If we can resolve your complaint to your satisfaction within the first 5 business days of receipt, we will do so. Otherwise, we will keep you updated with progress and will provide you with our decision as quickly as possible (and in any case within 40 business days).
Next steps if you are still unhappy
After receiving our final response or if we have been unable to conclude our investigation within 40 business days, you may be able to refer your complaint to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO).
We will let you know if we believe the Ombudsman service can consider your complaint when we provide you with our decision.
The service they provide is free and impartial. We will provide full details of how to do this in our final response or holding letter.

Cancellation Rights
craftinsure.ie can cancel your policy by sending you an email to which we
obtain a receipt.
You can cancel your policy via the policy holder part of the craftinsure.ie website at any time. If you cancel this insurance contract within 14 working days after the date when you are informed the contract has been concluded, no financial cost will be imposed on you other than the cost of the premium for the period of cover.
If you cancel after 14 working days and have paid an annual premium, you will receive a pro-rata refund the balance of the premium paid for the unexpired term. Individual monthly premiums are non refundable.
However, if you have made a claim during the currency of the policy being cancelled, then no refund is due.
