We accept this is not the most exciting part, but it is important and we would like you to read it all the way through, please.
Please read these Terms of Business carefully. They form an important part of the contract between Craftinsure and you.
Craftinsure Ireland Ltd
Craftinsure Ireland Ltd is registered in Ireland (registered No. 439758).

Craftinsure Ireland Ltd administers this policy on behalf of Zurich Insurance plc, however it does not provide analysis of the market nor does it advise on the insurance product it sells.
Insurer
This insurance is provided by Zurich Insurance Europe AG (a non-life insurance undertaking) incorporated in Germany. Registered No. HRB 133359. Registered office: Platz der Einheit 2, 60327 Frankfurt, Germany. Ireland Branch registered in Ireland. Registration No. 910127. Ireland Branch Office: Zurich House, Frascati Road, Blackrock, Dublin A94X9Y3, Ireland.
Authorisation and Service
Craftinsure Ireland Ltd is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. We are
registered as an insurance intermediary. Our reference number is C187907
and our details can be found on registers.centralbank.ie.
Statutory Codes
Craftinsure Ireland Ltd is subject to and complies with the Consumer Protection Code 2012, the Minimum Competency Code 2017 and the Fitness and Probity Standards 2014. These codes can be accessed on the Central Bank of Ireland's website at www.centralbank.ie.
Conflicts of Interest
It is the policy of Craftinsure Ireland Ltd to avoid any conflict of interest when providing business services to clients. However, where an unavoidable conflict may arise we will advise you of this in writing before providing any business service. If you have not been advised of any such conflict you may assume that none arise.
Accuracy of information
The information that you provide to us must be true and correct to the best
of your knowledge and belief.
In particular you should disclose any facts that would influence an insurer in the assessment and acceptance of the risk. If you are in any doubt about whether certain facts are relevant or not, please email us at help@craftinsure.ie. Failure to disclose material information may invalidate your insurance cover and could mean that part, or all, of a claim may not be paid.
Boats covered
We only cover privately owned Irish boats. Your boat must be kept or moored
in accordance with the territorial scope and terms of your Policy.
Your boat must be in a seaworthy condition and must not be skippered by any
persons who, to your knowledge, have been refused boat insurance.
Confidentiality of information
All personal information about you will be treated as private and
confidential (even when you are no longer a customer), except where the
disclosure is made at your request, with your consent, in relation to
administering your insurance or where law requires us
Data Protection laws
Some or all of the information you supply to us in connection with your insurance proposal will be held on computer and may be passed to other insurance companies for underwriting and claims purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy. . Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have a right of access to see personal information about you that is held in our records, whether electronically or manually. If you have any queries, please write to the above address.
Notification of Claims
Please use the claims tab at www.craftinsure.ie or refer to
your policy document if you need to notify a claim. You should contact us
as soon as possible using the contact details provided. If in doubt about
whom you should contact, please contact the claims helpline +353 (0) 1 285 9631.
Telephone calls
Craftinsure may record or monitor telephone calls you make to us for
training purposes and with the aim of improving the service that we provide
to you.
Language
Your policy documents and all of our communications with you will be through English.
Cancellation Rights
You can cancel cover at any time within the customer login area at
www.craftinsure.ie. However, if you have made a claim during the currency
of the Policy being cancelled then no refund is due, and if you are paying
premiums monthly, you hereby agree that we may collect the balance of the
annual premium outstanding.
If you cancel your policy before the end of the policy term, provided you have not made a claim during the current period, your card will be credited with a pro rata refund based on equivalent months left to run. Individual monthly premiums are non refundable. Please note that policies will automatically renew on the due date unless you cancel beforehand.
Default
Failure to pay your premium or any instalment in full may result in the cancellation of your insurance contract.
Stamp Duty
Stamp Duty Levy is included in the premium
Remuneration
Craftinsure employees receive no remuneration in respect of your Policy
Craftinsure receives a commission from the insurer, included in the premium
Our Fees and Charges
We reserve the right to make additional charges to cover our Administration
costs. These charges are as follows:-
• New Policies arranged/reinstated by phone (online free):By us €15.00
• Posting out of documents (where available online free): By us €15.00
• Updating card/payment details (online free): By us €5.00
• Adjustments to monthly policies (online free): By us €15.00
• Mid term adjustments to annual policies: By us €15.00
• Policy Endorsements and Foreign Certificates: €15 per item
Email communication
We will communicate with you by email, and update our site regularly. It is
therefore important that you:
- check your email regularly, as we may have tried to contact you
- advise us immediately of any changes to your email address
- check our site regularly for updates and information
Payment terms
Payment of your premium is required when cover commences. By accepting
these Terms of Business you authorise us to collect premiums as embodied in
the paragraph “Credit/debit card application”. We only accept payment by
certain cards online.
You may be able to spread payments monthly by clicking on the phrase “please click here for monthly payment options” on the quote page at www.craftinsure.ie but this option must be selected before cover commences. Any subsequent alteration to the payment option may incur administration fees noted in “Our fees and charges” above.
Credit/debit card application
I authorise you, until further notice by e-mail, to charge my credit or
debit card account when payments become due. I understand shortly after the
renewal date of my policy, Craftinsure will automatically apply for payment
of the premium due.
Complaints procedure
We aim to provide a high standard of service that will leave you no cause
for complaint. However, if you feel we have not net the high standard you
would expect of us, any enquiries or complaints regarding your policy may
be addressed to complaints@craftinsure.ie or by post to the Managing Director, Craftinsure Ireland Ltd, 3 Barnhill Avenue, Dalkey, Co. Dublin. Alternatively please call us on +353 (0) 1 285 9631
If we can resolve your complaint to your satisfaction within the first 5 business days of receipt, we will do so. Otherwise, we will keep you updated with progress and will provide you with our decision as quickly as possible (and in any case within 40 business days).
Next steps if you are still unhappy
After receiving our final response or if we have been unable to conclude our investigation within 40 business days, you may be able to refer your complaint to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO).
We will let you know if we believe the Ombudsman service can consider your complaint when we provide you with our decision.
The service they provide is free and impartial. We will provide full details of how to do this in our final response or holding letter.

The Investor Compensation Company Limited
Craftinsure Limited is a member of the Investor Compensation Scheme established under Section 38 of the Investor Compensation Act 1998. The Act provides that compensation shall be paid to eligible customers if we are unable to make payment of money we owe to them in relation to the provision of our services. Payment from the Scheme is limited to 90% of the money owing or €20,000 (whichever is lower) provided the claim is eligible for compensation.
Documentation
We may keep certain documents whilst we are awaiting full payment of
premiums or charges. In these circumstances we shall provide details of
your insurance cover and any documents that you require by law.
Block Transfers
We operate a block insurance arrangement in order to provide competitive
terms. On occasion it may be necessary for us to transfer our portfolio of
business from one insurer to another where this is beneficial for our
clients.
Your placement of cover with Craftinsure and consequent agreement to these
Terms & Conditions constitutes both your acceptance that we may do this
and your prior request for us so to do.
